Critérium du Dauphiné Stage 7: Vingegaard Again!

Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) powered away easily from his rivals on Saturday’s stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné for the win, finishing 41’’ ahead of Adam Yates (UAE Emirates), and 53″ ahead of Jai Hindley (Bora-Hansgrohe).

“The legs felt good and the guys worked really hard along the way,” said Vingegaard afterwards. “It was also our plan to do it this way.”

Vingegaard is now more than 2 minutes ahead of his closest GC rival, Adam Yates, and barring any mishaps is predicted to win the overall GC. The stage 8 finale on Sunday will feature three category 2 climbs, two category 1 climbs, and one HC (Hors Catégorie) climb.
