Mikkel Bjerg (UAE Team Emirates) won the individual time trial on stage 4 of the Critérium du Dauphiné on Wednesday with a time of 37:28 for the 31.1 km course. The 2022 Tour de France champion, Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma), was second @12 seconds, followed by Remi Cavagna (Soudal-QuickStep), who finished third @27 seconds.
Bjerg’s time was good enough to put him in the GC lead, 12 seconds ahead of Vingegaard, and 34 seconds ahead of Fred Wright (Bahrain Victorious), who was 4th in the TT.
Vingegaard is placed well and is expected to take over the GC lead on Friday’s mountain stage.
