La Vuelta Femenina Stage 1: Jumbo/Visma Takes TTT!

Team Jumbo-Visma won the team time trial at stage 1 of the 2023 La Vuelta Femenina. The Dutch team of seven riders clocked a time of 18’03” on the 14,5-kilometre course, one second ahead of 2nd place finishers Canyon/SRAM, and 9 seconds ahead of Trek-Segafredo who finished 3rd.

The red GC leader’s jersey was claimed by Anna Henderson of Great Britain, who was the first Jumbo-Visma rider across the line.

A record 161 riders and 23 teams are participating in this year’s La Vuelta Femenina sponsored by Carrefour Spain. The American team EF Education-TIBCO-SVB is the only team participating with six riders, instead of seven. A total of nine Spanish teams are participating in this year’s race, with Moviestar being the strongest of them with their 4th place finish in the TTT.

Tomorrow’s stage 2 is a flat route of 106,6 kilometres between Orihuela and Pilar de la Horadada.
