Stage 6 of the Tour de Suisse was cancelled as a tribute to Gino Mäder who died on Friday at the hospital following his crash on the descent of the Albulapass on Thursday’s stage 5.
As a tribute to Mäder, the peloton rode the final 20km of Friday’s stage after consultation with the race organization and Mäder’s family.
Following the announcement of Mäder’s death, the Bahrain Victorious team issued a statement: “Gino, thank you for the light, the joy, and the laughs you brought us all, we will miss you as a rider and as a person. Today and every day, we ride for you, Gino.”

Stage 6 cancelled, GC remains the same from stage 5.
