“It was a team time trial to the finish. This [stage 18 win] would never have been possible without Pascal Eenkhoorn (Lotto-dstny), Victor Campenaerts (Lotto-dstny), and Jonas Abrahamsen (Uno-X). They all rode great. We all deserved the win, but of course I’m happy to run with it.” – Kasper Asgreen (Soudal-Quickstep).
“We came up short in the high mountains and we miss Fabio in the sprint, so we had to try today [stage 18] or tomorrow. With three men it was not much, but we tried to play well tactically: everything in the last kilometers. We are lucky that it just fell our way today.” – Wilfrid Peeters, DS (Soudal-Quickstep).
“Today was not a stressful day. Although the pace was high in the final because the peloton was still trying to get the escapees back. I am satisfied that I was able to follow the sprinter teams. The team did another good job today. Only in Paris will we be able to rest.” – Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma).
“I still don’t understand what happened yesterday [stage 17]. The first two weeks went well, so I was very optimistic. Maybe my preparation wasn’t good enough.” – Tadej Pogacar (UAE)
