After finishing on the podium several times this season, Chloé Dygert (Canyon-SRAM) finally nailed down her first win of the season at stage 2 of the RideLondon Classique. Finishing behind Dygert in the group sprint were Lizzie Deignan (Trek-Segafredo) and her teammate Soraya Paladin.
The action started when a group of 25+ riders got away from the peloton at the 30km mark and gained almost 4 minutes on the main peloton. At the 12km mark, Dygert’s teammate, Maike van der Duin, attacked the group and gained almost 40 seconds, but chasers behind reduced that gap and she was caught inside the final kilometer. It was then the job of Dygert and teammate Soraya Paladin to finish the job. Paladin took the lead and Dygert came around Deignan and outpowered her to the line by several bike lengths for the win.
