Georg Zimmermann (Intermarché-Circus-Wanty) won stage 6 of the Critérium du Dauphiné ahead of breakaway companion Mathieu Burgaudeau (TotalEnergies). Jonathan Castroviejo (INEOS Grenadiers) won the peloton sprint for third.
Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) and other GC contenders did not challenge each other on the last climb, but seemed more intent on maintaining the status quo. The stages on Saturday and Sunday should see more action from GC rivals as the peloton heads into the high mountains.
