The Assos GT Winter Booties use the same NEOS Medium membrane material used by Assos in their winter-proof jackets. It’s a supple softshell material that keeps you warm and dry, but that allows for greater movement by reducing the bulk normally found in winter booties.
More specifically, NEOS Medium is a tri-layer, thermo soft-shell, constructed with a bonded PU membrane. It’s close fitting, water-repellent (waterproof to >10 m), and wind-resistant, but still flexible and highly breathable.
As far as temperature range is concerned, we found the GT Winter booties to be most effective in the 3-12 Celcius range, which is late autumn and early spring for many riders. The booties are rated in the Assos Climarange 3/3 Winter, but we found that when the thermometer gets close to zero, you are better off with something warmer like the Assos GT Ultraz Winter booties.
While the Assos GT Winter Booties may be a bit on the expensive side, they are well worth the price and can be found on sale at many online shops.

The 3-layer softshell breathes well, keeping your feet comfortable during all levels of intensity during your ride. Practical features include a reverse Camlock zipper making your shoe covers easy to pull on before and off after your rides. The zeroCuff tech is a raw-cut edge at the top, creating a smooth and streamlined finish to the booties.
The inside material is a soft, waffle insulation with minimal bulk that stretches and breathes. Zippers and stitching are, as always, top-notch.
The bottom has two reinforced openings that stretch to the shape of your shoe and ensure a close and tight fit.
We had no problems fitting a size 46 shoe in a size II (EU 44-47) booty.

Yes, the booties say “Climacode 3/3” and “Winter” but they’re better suited for temperatures above 0 Celcius.
